We’re here to help guide you through every stage of Clearing. Our Clearing hotline (+44 (0) 118 402 0900) will be open during the following times:

Monday 18 August – 09:00 until 17:00
Tuesday 19 August to Friday 12 September – 09:00 until 16:30
Monday 15 September to Monday 29 September – 09:00 until 13:00

Please note we can no longer make 2025 entry offers to applicants who require a visa for study in the UK. If you are in this position, you are welcome to apply for entry in 2026 via UCAS.

Applying for university through Clearing can seem complicated. To help you, we’ve split our Clearing application guidance into sections, so you can see what to expect as you move through the process.

When you can apply

Most UK applicants get their results on 14 August 2025 and can apply through Clearing from this date.

If you’re an international applicant, we may also need evidence of satisfactory English language proficiency, such as via an IELTS (Academic) test. You need to have this evidence to apply via Clearing. Please view our list of acceptable English language tests.

Once you’ve accepted an offer, you can apply for accommodation, confirm your student finance, and contact our Disability Advisory Service if you need to.
