Located on Whiteknights campus, close to academic buildings, Stenton Hall offers premium self-catered accommodation in attractive surroundings. 

Please note Stenton Hall will be undergoing planned building enhancement works during academic year 2025/26. Compensation will be applied to rooms impacted at a rate of 5% or 10% where relevant.

Students with specific requirements

Single-sex accommodation

Single-sex areas are available at Stenton, depending on availability. Please contact us to check availability. Single-sex university accommodation means sharing a flat (not a room) with other students of the same sex. Please be aware in either male or female single-sex accommodation, guests (including overnight guests) may be of a different sex. Visiting staff members (cleaners, maintenance staff etc.) may also be of a different sex.

Accessibility

Rooms in Stenton Hall are arranged over five floors, all accessible by lift. We work closely with the University of Reading's Disability Advisory Service to support students who require adaptations or accessible rooms. Find out more on the accessible accommodation page.

Accommodation Guarantee

Prospective students are guaranteed a place in halls if they are:

  • A new full-time undergraduate who holds Reading as a Firm UCAS choice and applies for accommodation by 1 August** and satisfies any conditions of their academic offer by 3 September 2025.
  • A new full-time postgraduate who has accepted an offer from the University and applies for accommodation by 1 August** and satisfies any conditions of their academic offer by 3 September 2025.
