St Patrick's Hall offers a range of self-catered accommodation and rooms including a Meal Plan close to campus, set in attractive grounds. The older parts of the hall were first built in 1908, and home to the Royal Air Force during both world wars.

A short walk from academic buildings, shops, and the local Cintra Park, St Patrick's is in an excellent location. Living at St Patrick's means you'll be able to attend a variety of fun events as part of the Home at Halls residence life programme.

Meal plans

Eating a varied and balanced diet is important to your academic success. That's why at Reading we offer our Clever Cuisine Meal Plans – our flexible dining plans that allow you to choose what, when, where and how you eat. 

With our Meal Plans, you can eat fresh, nutritious meals at 13 of our food outlets across our campuses, benefiting from discounts of up to 75% on food as well as free drinks.

A number of St Patrick’s Hall’s rooms come with the Gold Meal Plan. This provides you with two meals each day during the 31 weeks of term via a weekly credit of £65.52, which is included in the weekly rent. Selected food outlets will be open during university closures for you to eat at, or purchase food from.

Accommodation Guarantee

Prospective students are guaranteed a place in halls if they are:

  • A new full-time undergraduate who holds Reading as a Firm UCAS choice and applies for accommodation by 1 August** and satisfies any conditions of their academic offer by 3 September 2025.
  • A new full-time postgraduate who has accepted an offer from the University and applies for accommodation by 1 August** and satisfies any conditions of their academic offer by 3 September 2025.
