Our guarantee
You will be guaranteed a place in halls for 2026/27 if you are:
- a new full-time undergraduate who holds Reading as a Firm UCAS choice and applies for accommodation by 1 August* and satisfies any conditions of their academic offer by 3 September 2026.**
- a new full-time postgraduate who has accepted an offer from the University and applies for accommodation by 1 August* and satisfies any conditions of their academic offer by 3 September 2026.**
* Please note, you need to apply by 23:59 British Summer Time (UTC+1) on 1 August of your year of entry.

If you have a conditional Firm offer, then you must meet the conditions of the offer, for example, achieving the required A level grades, in order for the guarantee to apply.
All undergraduate applicants holding an insurance offer are guaranteed a place in accommodation, if accepted by the University of Reading on Results Day, subject to submitting an application for accommodation by 17:00 on Wednesday 19 August 2026.
The number of rooms available varies from year to year depending on the number of successful applications to the University. We have a range of options available, with currently good availability, and securing a room is highly likely. All accommodation will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
You will not be able to apply for accommodation until the University of Reading becomes your Firm choice.
