Finance Directorate

The Finance Directorate is led by Emma Ashley, Reading's Director of Finance. Emma reports into Vin Wijeratne, Chief Financial Officer and member of the University Executive Board (UEB).

The Directorate comprises two departments within the University of Reading.

Finance

Finance provides financial services across the whole of the University, its subsidiaries and trusts. These services are provided through four groups:

  • Financial Planning and Strategy (including Post Award Research)
  • Specialist Accounting (including financial accounting, external reporting, and the Tax and Treasury teams) 
  • Transactional Services
  • Finance training.

Finance also provides support for the finance software through the Financial Systems team.

Procurement and Insurance

All procurement activity within the University is carried out in accordance with legal requirements, financial regulations, our procurement policy and procedural guidance. This includes spend funded through research grants.

All our team members are procurement and insurance professionals, each with their own areas of expertise.
