University to host Autumn Community Forum with food theme

Local residents are invited to the University of Reading's Autumn Community Forum, taking place on Whiteknights campus on Thursday 22 October.

Hosted by Vice-Chancellor Professor Robert Van de Noort, the event is an opportunity for residents to find out more about the University and Reading Students' Union's activity within the local area, share their views and connect with University staff.

This edition of the Community Forum has a special food theme. Guests will be able to taste dishes served on the evening, take home recipe cards to recreate them, and find out how the University's food research is making a difference to people's lives locally.

The event will also include a group discussion on how the University can work with local communities to improve access to food for families in the area.

Molli Cleaver, Community Engagement Manager at the University of Reading, said: "Our Community Forums are always a highlight in the calendar, and this autumn's event is no exception. The food theme gives us a really tangible way to bring our research to life and get people talking about something that affects everyone.

"We want as many local residents as possible to come along, enjoy the evening and share their views. These conversations genuinely shape how we work with the community, and we always leave with fresh ideas and new connections."

The Autumn Community Forum will take place at Eat at the Square, on Whiteknights campus, between 6pm and 8.30pm. The event includes a buffet dinner and refreshments.

This free event is open to anyone in the local community. Registration is essential and tickets can be booked online.
