University of Reading appearing in news media including TV and radio

#PlanetPartners: working with global partners to protect the environment 

  • Professor Paul Williams (Meteorology) is quoted by The Mirror, WCVB TV, WFMZ, Tucson, STL Today, Rapid City Journal, La Crosse Tribune, Stern, Travel News, Time News, Avisen, and around 30 other outlets on climate change's impact on the severity of turbulence. 
  • Dr Liz Stephens (Meteorology) is quoted by Wired, New Scientist (in print), Daily Times, Pakistan Today, The Poultry Site, The Cattle Site, and The Beef Site on flash flooding.
  • Professor Tom Oliver (Biological Sciences) was interviewed by ITV 1 News on the impact of the heatwave and drought on native species and ecosystems in the UK.
  • Professor Maarten Ambaum was interviewed by BBC Radio 5 and it aired over BBC Radio Ulster and BBC Radio Foyle on how cloud seeding works. 
  • Dr Helen Griffith (Geography) is quoted by Mail & Guardian on the cause of Pakistan's flooding.
  • Research Scientist, Akshay Deoras (Meteorology) is quoted by Global News and CISN on the role of jet streams in Pakistan's monsoon season.

COVID-19: expert comment on the pandemic

  • Dr Simon Clarke (Biological Sciences) was interviewed by BBC Radio Berkshire about the importance of getting a Covid booster as he expects cases will rise this winter.
