University of Reading appearing in news media including TV and radio

#PlanetPartners: working with global partners to protect the environment 

  • GB News, The Guardian (and in print), Express (and in print), Yahoo!, The Economic Times, News Lanes, Kent Online, Pehal News, News Break, and MSN report on predictions from Dr Christopher O’Reilly (Meteorology) that this year's winter will be milder than average.
  • The University of Bath, Teller Report, Go Green, News Dubai, and Zawya report on collaborative research by Professor Giles Harrison (Meteorology) on using charge to change water droplets.
  • AFP Factcheck, Yahoo! and MSN quote Professor Mike Lockwood (Meteorology) on the credibility of an article that misrepresents studies on Greenland's changing climate.
  • Legit, YEN, and Tuko quote PhD Researcher, Niko Howai (Agriculture, Policy, and Development), on the impact of mangroves on combatting climate change.

Baton relay: Wokingham Today reports that a baton will pass through the University today during its journey through eighteen countries before reaching its final destination in Egypt, where climate conference COP27 is taking place in November. Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Professor Peter Miskell (Education and Student Experience), was interviewed by BBC Radio Berkshire, Professor Ed Hawkins (Meteorology) was interviewed by BBC Radio Berkshire, and Visiting Professor Liz Bentley (Meteorology) was also interviewed by BBC Radio Berkshire on each of their roles in the relay.
