University of Reading appearing in news media including TV and radio

REF 2021 results: Reading is ranked at 40 out of 129 universities in the UK by Times Higher Education (measuring research quality) and at 34 out of 157 institutions by Research Fortnight (measuring research power), using data from the REF 2021 results published on Thursday. Institutional results were analysed by WonkHE, and India Education Diary reports on Reading increasing its proportion of research considered of the highest quality.

#PlanetPartners: working with global partners to protect the environment 

  • The Independent quotes Professor Ed Hawkins (Meteorology) on the impacts of climate change already being felt; and Head Topics, Inferse, and True Viral News report on his recent research on the moon's influence on the Earth's temperature.
  • The Independent and Yahoo! quote Professor Hannah Cloke (Geography / Meteorology) on the health risks associated with heatwaves, following a report this week that indicated the world will soon see temperatures temporarily exceed 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
