University of Reading appearing in news media including TV and radio

#PlanetPartners: working with global partners to protect the environment 

  • Professor Ed Hawkins (Meteorology) is quoted by The New Scientist (in print) on the effect that the moon has on the Earth's temperature, and his climate graphs are mentioned in an article by Pique Magazine. 
  • An article on The Conversation by its Environment Editor on how to survive heatwaves quotes PhD researcher Chloe Brimicombe (Geography/Walker Institute) on how to stay safe and the World Economic Forum reposts the article.
  • A blog for Oracle about research  that they partner with includes a mention about the Fruitwatch project to track fruit tree flowering, and the World Bee Project about sustainable crop production.

 

COVID-19: expert comment on the pandemic

  • Dr Simon Clarke (Biological Sciences) was quoted by BBC World Service Radio on his explanation of antibodies developed from infection and vaccination, and he is quoted by The Sun (and in print), UAE News, News Break, and Daily Star Post on the role that the UK's early access to vaccinations had in preventing a higher death toll.
