University of Reading appearing in news media including TV and radio

Storm Eunice: Read our expert comments on the storm

  • Dr Peter Inness (Meteorology) is quoted by Express, Evening Standard, Yahoo!, the Telegraph and The Sun (in print) on Storm Eunice's capability to produce sting jets and severe winds. He also answered Talk Radio's questions about the storm.
  • Dr Ambrogio Volonte (Meteorology) is quoted by the Telegraph (and in print), Mail+, Daily Mail (and in print), and The Sun on the severity of Storm Eunice. 
  • Professor Hannah Cloke (Geography / Meteorology) is quoted by the Independent, Metro, CNN, and iNews (and in print).
  • Dr Stephen Burt (Meteorology) discussed Storm Eunice on LBC Radio.  
  • The BBC and Berkshire Live report on the closing of the University's campuses to keep students and staff safe. Professor Robert Van de Noort (Vice-Chancellor of the University) also spoke to BBC Radio Berkshire about the decision to close campus. Visiting Professor Liz Bentley also spoke to the station about the storm forecasts in her role as Chief Executive of the Royal Meteorological Society.
  • Dr Roger Brugge (Meteorology) is quoted by Berkshire Live on the memorable destruction caused by the Great Storm of 1987, a storm comparable to Storm Eunice.

COVID-19: expert comment on the pandemic
