Academic discounts
To our alum who are considering further study with us, we are delighted to offer you financial support in the form of tuition fee discounts and scholarships to help you on your academic journey
Alumni Discount
All home fee-paying students who are either progressing from an undergraduate to postgraduate taught course, or a postgraduate taught to postgraduate research course are entitled to a 20% discount on their tuition fees, subject to eligibility.

You do not need to apply for this discount. Eligible students will have the alumni discount applied automatically as part of the admissions process.
Alumni Scholarship - 2027/28 entry (only)
For students starting a Master's degree in 2027/28, the Alumni Scholarship will provide:
- Home students with a 20% on their tuition fees
- International students with £10,000 off their tuition fees
Application process
There is no separate scholarship application or deadline. Eligible students will have the scholarship applied automatically as part of the admissions process.
The scholarship is available for 2027/28 entry only and cannot be deferred to a future academic year.

Alumni Master's Scholarship - 2026/2027 entry (only)
If you are applying for a Master's degree starting in February 2027, you have until 1 December 2026 to apply for our £3000 scholarship. This scholarship is only available for those starting their course in February 2027. The University of Reading Master's Alumni Scholarship is funded by alumni for alumni.
For students starting a Master's degree in February 2027, the Alumni Masters Scholarship provides:
- Home fee students: 20% off tuition fees
- £3000 of funding - designed to help contribute towards your living expenses and other study essentials.
Application process
Eligible students will be invited to apply for this scholarship. The scholarship is open to all University of Reading students who have completed or are about to finish an undergraduate programme.
