Centenary 2026: Centenary Project Grant Scheme
19 March 2024
This week we’re counting down to the University’s Centenary in 2026.
As part of our centenary celebrations, the University is launching a new Centenary Project Grant Scheme, so that our whole community has the opportunity to come up with celebratory activities to deliver alongside the main programme.
£250,000 from the £1m funding for our Centenary 2026 project has been earmarked for the Scheme, to create a pot of money to support and enable the delivery of ‘locally’ organised activities, events and projects, that are in-keeping with the overarching themes and objectives of the centenary.
A funding bid process, including development of key criteria, will be announced at the end of April, recognising that some activities will have a long lead time. Our University community will be invited to put forward their ideas for projects and activities that will both mark our centenary year, and forge a lasting legacy for the University.
The Scheme will be overseen by the University’s Centenary Steering Group.
This is YOUR celebration
As well as the chance to submit your ideas for projects to be a part of our big Centenary year, we’ll also be surveying our University community over the summer to get a sense of what you want from the celebrations.
Look out for more detail on the Centenary 2026 website over the summer.
