All-staff talk: Henley’s Apprenticeship Levy success
22 April 2022
Vice-Chancellor Robert Van de Noort introduced our all-staff talk on Henley Business School’s successful apprenticeship programmes. Launched in 2017, Henley’s programme works with 1,700 learners from over 160 employers from fields including healthcare, finance and telecommunications.
Robert was joined by Mark Hayes, Head of Apprenticeship Corporate Development at Henley, and Dorota Bourne, Programme Area Director of Henley’s Apprenticeship programmes. Their accompanying slides are available here.
Mark Hayes works with our large, levy-paying businesses to optimise their use of the levy as part of their workforce development programme. Mark gave an overview of the Apprenticeship Levy across the country and Henley’s position in the market. In 2020/21 Henley welcomed the third highest number of apprenticeship starters within the higher education sector.
Dorota works as an Associate Professor of Coaching and Change Management at Henley Business School. She has been involved in apprenticeship programmes at Henley since 2017. Dorota spoke about our apprenticeships offer, which now encompasses nine different programmes and how their structure differs from other degrees. Apprentices came from 193 clients from across the private and public sectors and open up opportunities to those who otherwise may not have entered higher education.
