All-staff talk: Implementing the University Strategy
08 April 2022
In this session Vice-Chancellor Robert Van de Noort updated on the implementation of our strategy. The strategy was launched two years ago, and despite the considerable interruptions from the pandemic, there have been many successes we can celebrate from a wide range of strategic initiatives. Many of these have been covered in previous all-staff talks, which you can view through our Microsoft Streams channel.
The accompanying slides are available here.
Next steps
There is still much work to be done to fully implement the strategy from two main areas:
- Activities driven by the University Executive Board from above. Priorities over the next 12 months include the development of a new HR strategy and continuing the implementation of the Strategic Foundations Programme. The freezing of tuition fees adds urgency to these changes, rising inflation means we need an additional £10million a year to keep still.
- Initiatives driven by colleagues from across the University to deliver the strategy on the ground. There has already been a wide range of such work and recent examples include:
- New nature trails on Whiteknights campus
- Our most successful University Challenge team of all time
- Research on a Platter
