All of these teams are based in the Carrington building and most provide support to students in person, by phone or by email.

Services to direct students to
- Information is available to students on the Supporting You page on Essentials.
- The University has partnered with Health Assured to offer students a 24/7/365 confidential telephone helpline to support with any personal questions, worries or advice a student might need. Students can call 0800 023 2466 to access the 24hr support helpline, free of charge. Students can also access live chat, email support, and more.
- If you are unsure where to direct a student, the Student Support Co-ordinators who work at the Support Centre reception desks are a good place to start or the Student Services Reception Desk (studenthelp@reading.ac.uk ) in the Carrington Building. Please do ask them for guidance.
- If your student is very unclear on what they are struggling with they can use the Student Student Wellness Checker to guide them to identify areas to focus on and to appropriate support.
- The Reading Students’ Union also offers an independent advice service covering money, housing, and academic support.
- If a student would prefer to get support from outside the University, Student Space provided by Student Minds offers one-to-one phone, text, email, webchat support for whatever challenge they are facing, whether it’s mental health, studies, money, housing or relationships.
