Student wellbeing training for staff
A range of training on supporting students with their wellbeing is available to colleagues.
This includes:
- Safeguarding Essentials in Higher Education - 60min online course specific to the University context.
- Responding to Disclosure of Harassment and Hate - 45min online course for those that are likely to be a first responder to a disclosure, such as student-facing academic and professional staff and student leaders. It provides knowledge required to identify harassment and hate, and the skills and confidence to provide an effective first response. Incorporating case studies and interactive practice scenarios, the module examines the impact of harassment and hate on both an individual and community level.
- Prevent – introduction (module 1) - This course provides an introduction to the Prevent Duty and its relevance and application in relevant higher education bodies.
- Prevent – refresher (module 2) - This training is designed to give you a refresher of your knowledge of the government guidance in relation to the 'Prevent' duty, the processes we have in place internally to support you and what you should be aware of when interacting with students, and other members of staff.
