Other staff channels

There are several ways staff can stay up to date with what's happening at the University, and to share their news with other colleagues.

The list on this page is in addition to the main channels run by the Staff Engagement team: the Staff Portal intranet and the In Brief monthly staff newsletter.

Staff News poster

A monthly poster with the latest news and updates is displayed in staff rest areas across our three UK campuses.

This is based on our In Brief newsletter and is intended to reach colleagues in non-desk-based roles, and to aid manager briefings for these teams, to ensure all staff have access to important updates.

If you have a staff-only space that could benefit from a Staff News poster, please email the Staff Engagement team.

All staff talks

Online talks on key themes take place monthly on Microsoft Teams, hosted by the Vice Chancellor or another member of the University Executive Board.

Recordings of the talks are published on the Staff Portal shortly afterwards.

Email mailing lists

An all-staff mailing list is managed by the Corporate Communications team, and is for high level updates only.

A Leadership Forum mailing list is also managed by Corporate Communications and includes UEB members, Heads of School, Heads of Directorate and other colleagues in senior leadership roles.

Email signatures

These email signatures are for all colleagues to use to share our strategic strengths, achievements and partnerships.

How to use the signatures

1. Download the Word document to view the list of signature images.
2. Right click the image you want and select ‘Copy’.
3. Paste the image into your email signature in Outlook and click ‘Save’. See Microsoft’s guide to creating Outlook email signatures for more assistance.
4. The image will now show at the bottom of your new emails when this signature is selected.

Please note: the hyperlink and alt text will be carried across when copying and pasting directly from the Word document. However, these will need to be added manually in Signatures if using the New Outlook app.
