Dr Janice Lee has been appointed as the new Academic Director of Teaching and Learning (ADTL) for the University of Reading Malaysia (UoRM).
An alumnus of the University, Janice also has over 20 years of experience of teaching real estate in higher education and moves to her new role from the position of Programme Lead for BSc Real Estate and Deputy Head of Section for Henley Business School Malaysia.
With a passion for teaching and the student experience, Janice was also the alternate Chair of the Teaching & Learning Committee in UoRM and was attracted to the ADTL role by its broad remit and the opportunity it provides to work closely with Schools, Marketing, Professional Services and Quality Assurance to focus on and uphold the quality of the student learning experience.
Janice said: “With the University working towards achieving the aims of its International Strategy, this is a particularly exciting time to take on the ADTL role at UoRM. I’m looking forward to playing my part in the work to achieve these aims and optimising the opportunities provided by UoRM’s position as regional hub in Southeast Asia.
“I am keen to encourage greater cross-campus student and staff collaboration. Our strength is our diverse reach, and I want to help create more connections that will enrich student learning and their overall experience."
Professor Elizabeth McCrum, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education and Student Experience), said “I’m delighted that Janice is taking on this important role. She brings valuable experience from her time as Programme Lead and on the T&L Committee and I look forward to working with her.
“I’d also like to thank her predecessor, Anne Vergis, for her support and valuable contribution, particularly through the Covid period and to the Portfolio Review Project.”
