UK visas go digital from 31 December
11 November 2024
If you’re in the UK on a visa, now is a good time to check if you need to switch to an electronic visa, or eVisa.
Most biometric residence permits will expire on 31 December 2024, meaning that colleagues who are yet to apply for an eVisa should do so as soon as possible.
EVisas replace other visa types to create a digital immigration record. They have been already used for certain immigration routes like the EU Settlement scheme, but they are now being rolled out for all visas. Colleagues with a visa to live and work in the UK should therefore check and reassure themselves that they have the correct eVisa before any old ones expire.
Each individual will need their own online account, but parents or guardians can manage accounts on behalf of their children or dependents if they’re under 18.
