Report slips on icy campus paths and roads this winter

Colleagues are urged to take care when walking or driving on campus during icy weather this winter, and to report any slips to help keep others safe.

Main roads and footpaths through campus are gritted daily during freezing weather conditions, while minor routes are gritted on most of these days.

However is still likely to form when temperatures drop below freezing, making roads and paths slippery in some areas.

If you slip on an icy path or road, please report this to Health & Safety Services via the Incident Notification Form as an ‘accident’.

Even if you are unscathed, reporting slips helps the Estates Campus Operations team to monitor potentially hazardous areas and take action if necessary.

Other problems on campus that need addressing should be reported to the Estates Helpdesk.
