Graduate Outcomes sector level data available
12 November 2024
A dashboard showing Reading’s graduate outcome data in comparison with the wider sector is now available.
The Graduate Outcomes Sector Level Dashboard gives academic colleagues an insight into the employment impact of their degree programmes and related initiatives.
This should be used in conjunction with the internal analysis of our Graduate Outcomes data, released in June, by the Careers team.
It provides graduate employment statistics at both institution and subject level for 2021/22 compared to the previous academic years.
The dashboard also contains data for the league table-eligible cohorts (UK-domiciled, full-time, first degree) from the 2017/18 to 2021/22 academic years and is intended to allow staff the ability to contextualise their scores, relative to other institutions.
We currently have five years’ worth of Graduate Outcomes Survey data available to use for comparison.
It is important to note that all data from the 2018/19 academic year onwards will have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic in one way or another and therefore comparisons across years need to be taken in the context of the labour market at the time.
How we scored
As a university, we increased our relative position (percentile score) against the sector this year, from 67 in 2020/21 to 70 in 2021/22. This is encouraging to see and suggests that we are moving in the right direction after a slight drop in scores in 2019/20.
Our scores for students in graduate level work and/or study have dropped slightly this year, but the relative position score suggests that our results have not dropped as much as other institutions, therefore putting us in a better position overall.
The dashboard data is only available to staff at the University and contains data rounded and suppressed according to HESA’s methodology.
Please note: This dashboard is our interpretation of the data using the old DLHE methodology. HESA has a slightly different way of modelling the data and those interested can find out more from HESA’s open data release.
