Staff social clubs and activities survey
09 May 2024
Are you involved in a staff social activity or club? Would you be interested in setting one up to share your hobby or passion with others?
Regular social activities and one-off informal events take place across the University, but there isn’t currently an easy way of finding out what these are and when they happen. Likewise, it can be difficult to advertise fun activities you are planning to find likeminded colleagues to attend.
We are therefore calling on colleagues who run, or are considering organising, any kind of regular or one-off social activity to let us know about them by filling in our survey.
Fill out the Staff Social Activities form.
Working with colleagues who champion wellbeing and run existing clubs, we aim to create an online reference point for finding and sharing social opportunities, big or small.
These could range from established clubs based around hobbies like crafting, exercising, learning languages or reading, to informal gatherings to play games at lunchtime or attend a pub quiz after work.
The form data will be used to help us to better understand what opportunities already exist, which perhaps are small or localised and others are not aware of. It will also help with exploring a solution that will support new clubs to form and grow.
Additionally, if you would be interested in joining a club based around a particular interest or hobby but aren’t sure if it exists, please share this in question 2 on the form. This will allow us to gauge demand and connect colleagues to potentially make them happen.
Increasing visibility of such informal opportunities will support our community-building principle by bringing colleagues in similar or different roles together more often.
We will report any new resource put in place as a result of this survey on the Staff Portal.
