Sign up to be a volunteer exam invigilator
19 March 2024
Staff volunteers can help our summer exam season run smoothly by signing up as a back-up volunteer invigilator.
The Exams Office has recruited a number of external invigilators in order to cover 867 invigilation slots across more than 41,000 exam sittings required over the six week exam period. Despite this, there are still some pinch points where there may be shortages.
As a result, staff are being asked to volunteer as reserve invigilators for the main in-person examinations if, due to last minute cancellations, an examination room cannot be fully staffed.
Volunteers would only be called upon if exam sessions cannot be filled in any other way. This would be on the day and at short notice.
The dates when we are most likely to be short are:
- Tuesday 23 April
- Tuesday 7 May
- Friday 10 May
- Monday 13 May
- Tuesday 14 May
- Thursday 16 May
- Friday 17 May
- Tuesday 21 May
Morning sessions run from 08:25 - 12:30 and afternoon sessions from 13:25 - 17:30. Staff volunteers would be prioritised for the shortest exams within each session.
Exams are in person at Whiteknights and London Road, and so volunteers would need to commit to working on site on the days they’ve volunteered or be able to come to campus at very short notice.
If you would be able to support on any of the dates above please complete the online form with your details. You will then be given access to key invigilator training and handbook information.
