Applications are invited for the role of Head of School for the Institute of Education (IoE).
The vacancy has been created following Professor Carol Fuller’s decision to step down from the position at the end of the current academic year.
This key leadership position is being advertised internally only.
About the role
The Head of School is responsible for providing the School’s academic leadership, contributing to the broader leadership within the wider University and is accountable for the successful organisation and performance of the School.
In keeping with the University’s commitment to a diverse and inclusive workforce, a part-time or job share arrangement would be considered.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview on Wednesday 8 May 2024.
Interview candidates will be required to give a short presentation to colleagues in IoE in the morning, with the interview in the afternoon.
The presentation should set out their key priorities for the School, should they be appointed. There will then be the opportunity for colleagues in the School to ask questions of each candidate.
Online information session
An online information session for those interested in applying for the role, hosted by Robert Van de Noort, Vice-Chancellor, will take place at 15:00 on Tuesday 26 March 2024.
The session will allow those interested in applying to find out more about the role and ask questions anonymously.
