New Associate PVC titles for Deans

Our Deans will become known as Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellors from 1 August 2024, to align these role titles with those of other universities.

The change will apply to our Deans for Research, Diversity and Inclusion, Teaching and Learning and Internationalisation, who will all be known as Associate PVCs.

The exceptions are Henley Business School’s Dean and Pro-Dean titles, which will continue under the same titles.

Only the titles will change. Job descriptions and remuneration for these roles will remain exactly as they are now.

The new titles all reflect those now used by a large part of the rest of the sector, particularly by universities overseas. It will therefore assist with our interactions with international partners as part of our global engagement work.
