Reading Students’ Union announces next CEO

Reading Students’ Union’s has announced Cat Redding as its next Chief Executive Officer. She will join the Students’ Union on 15 April.
Currently Chief Executive at the Union of Kingston Students, Cat has a wealth of experience in change management and innovation within the higher education sector. At Kingston’s SU, she completed a comprehensive review resetting core foundations and establishing an innovative future vision.
Before this, she led St Mary's University Students’ Union as Chief Executive, and has worked in student engagement at St Mary's University and Christ Church Students’ Union in Canterbury.
Jack Maddock, Co-Chair Reading SU Trustee Board, said: “This strategic decision reflects our commitment to improving the lives of all students every day and strengthens our position as a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation.
“Cat brings a fresh perspective, innovative ideas, and a proven track record of success that aligns with our vision for the future and we are excited to welcome her to the SU.”
Ceri Davies, who has been Interim Chief Executive since June 2023, will continue in this role until Cat's arrival in April.
