Head of SAGES applications open

Applications are now invited for the vacant Head of School Head of School of Archaeology, Geography and Environmental Sciences (SAGES) role.
The vacancy follows Professor Steve Musson stepping down from the position at the end of December 2023. This key leadership position is being advertised internally only.
Details about the position and how to apply are on the online job advert. The deadline for applications is Sunday 4th February 2024.
An online information session for those interested in applying for the role, hosted by Vice-Chancellor Robert Van de Noort, will take place on 24 January 2024 from 11.00 – 12:00.
The session will allow those interested in applying to find out more about the role and ask questions anonymously. A recording of the session will be available on request after this date.

About the role
The Head of School is responsible for providing the School’s academic leadership and will also contribute to the broader leadership within the wider University.
In keeping with the University’s commitment to a diverse and inclusive workforce, a part-time or job share arrangement would be considered.

Shortlisting and interview dates
Shortlisting will take place week commencing 05 February 2024.
Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to undertake a short presentation to colleagues in the School, setting out their key priorities for the School, should they be appointed. Following the presentation there will be the opportunity for colleagues in the School to ask questions of each candidate – this will take place on Wednesday 21 February 2024.
Interviews will take place in the afternoon of Tuesday 27 February 2024.
