Free tea or coffee this Brew Monday
10 January 2024
Colleagues and students can get a regular tea or coffee for free on Monday 15 January, as we mark Brew Monday.
January can be a difficult month for some, due to the cold, dark days and pressure on budgets post-Christmas, with the third Monday of the month often referred to as 'Blue Monday'.
This led to the Samaritans setting up the Brew Monday campaign to make the day a little easier and encourage people to start a conversation about mental wellbeing over a cuppa. We supported this with our free cuppa initiative last year, and are doing so again.
How to get your free tea or coffee
Reach out to your friends and colleagues and organise a chat over a cup of tea or coffee during a time where they might appreciate having someone to talk to.
Between 14:00-15:00 on Monday 15 January, you can take advantage of a free regular tea or coffee and a space to talk in the Trilobite (in the Health and Life Sciences building) and Breakfast Box (in Edith Morley) cafes. Add this event to your Outlook calendar.
Please remember that it's important to speak to someone if you're feeling low. You can find support and guidance on our Health and Wellbeing pages.
You can also access our Wellbeing Peer Support Network to speak to a colleague about wellbeing concerns, and the Employee Assistance Programme, which offers free 24-hour confidential support.
A mental health and self care webinar is also being presented by our Employee Assistance Programme on Wednesday 25 January.
