Learning and development opportunities this semester
28 August 2024
New training courses are now available to book as People Development launches its programme for Semester 1 of the new academic year.
A host of learning and development sessions have been added to UoRLearn and can be booked now.
They include comprehensive in-person courses spread over full or multiple days, as well as shorter sessions that can be launched on demand online and completed in as little as 20 minutes.
Courses available to book in September include:
- Bouncebackability: Rolling with Life’s Punches - Henley Partnership webinar
This in-person session teaches tips and techniques to be at our best during and after difficult or stressful periods. It covers positive thinking and personal resilience, and ways to remain inspired and energised. - Creative Thinking and Innovation
This session looks at how to be more creative in the decisions you make on a day-to-day basis and how to solve problems in an innovative way. - Grade 6 Research Staff Development Workshop
Following confirmation that the rewards and academic promotion schemes will return in 2024/25, this half-day workshop guides researchers through the processes and provides tips on preparing a case for promotion. - Confident Conversations for Leaders
This workshop aims to help leaders build confidence and competence in having more challenging conversations and tackling difficult situations that they might prefer to avoid. - Effective Networking
Attendees will get practical tips on reading body language, ‘working the room’ and following up on leads to help them get more out of networking events.
New learning and development sessions are added to UoRLearn throughout the year, so keep an eye on the platform for more opportunities.
