Doing UoR Bit platform to close
14 August 2024
The Doing UoR Bit green incentive programme is set to close at the end of August 2024, but there is still plenty of support on hand to help you work sustainably.
Doing UoR Bit began as a programme to encourage climate-conscious behaviours at home and at work.
Our collective efforts have led to awards, including the first ever Times Higher Education award for climate leadership, recognition by People and Planet as the greenest university, and 14 Green Flag awards for our Whiteknights campus in a row – plus much more.
The incentive scheme had over 1000 users and helped encourage greener behaviours by offering shopping vouchers and was the right approach when it launched in 2018.
Increasingly, however, we are an institution where sustainable practices are woven into our daily working lives. Talking about the changing climate and taking action to address the challenges has become second nature to the University community.
This has led to an evolution in our approach through the Our Future First programme, where small changes can make a big difference.
We now have dedicated sustainability champions across the University: enthusiastic volunteers who advise colleagues and support green initiatives within their teams. These champions will continue to inspire and guide our collective efforts.
