Blackboard Ultra: Are you Ultra-ready for the new semester?
05 August 2024
For the start of the new semester, we are moving to the latest version of Blackboard (our online learning platform) - Blackboard Ultra. Help is on hand to support teaching and learning colleagues prepare their Ultra Course in advance for this change.
It’s important that colleagues who use the platform take the time to design and build their new Ultra Courses ready for use from September.
To help colleagues get Ultra-ready, CQSD TEL’s Ultra staff development programme is running throughout the summer and with dates now available for September. Here are some of the highlights:
- Ultra Essential: Plan and start building your 2024/25 Course. This session provides the necessary skills to create effective Ultra courses. Both face-to-face and online options are available and colleagues are encouraged to attend this session.
- Course-building retreats. These dedicated sessions offer staff the opportunity to develop their courses with on-hand TEL support.
- New TEL support site for staff. A new resource has been launched, offering step-by-step guidance on how to do everything Ultra.
Returning students have had access to a video preview of a Blackboard Ultra Course through their newsletter, and further communications are planned for September to ensure that they know about the changes they will see in their 2024/25 Blackboard Courses.
