Join screening on soil regenerative agriculture
18 April 2024
An documentary film that explores how farmers are regenerating soil for the good of the planet will be shown at the University.
The School of Agriculture, Policy and Development's Film Club and the Vice-Chancellor's Office hosts a screening of Six Inches of Soil at 18:00 on Friday 26 April, followed by an expert panel discussion.
Six Inches of Soil is the first full-length campaigning documentary feature film that tells the untold story of the UK's regenerative and agroecology movement and its benefits to soil. It tells the story of our soils and our food and farming system through the eyes of three new-entrant farmers and examines how we can replace this with a resilient and localised agroecosystem.
The screening will be followed by a panel and audience discussion facilitated by Professor Martin Lukac, who will be joined by Professor Liz Shaw, Dr Rodica Pena and Dr Richard Gantlett, the Managing Partner of Yatesbury House Farm in Wiltshire.
The screening takes place at 18:00 on Friday 26 April at the Minghella Studios, Whiteknights campus. This free event is open to all, but advance booking is required.
