Health Innovation Partnership: help shape its future
26 April 2024
Colleague feedback is to be sought to help shape the future direction of the University’s partnership with the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.
The partnership has evolved over the last 10 years, with much progress made. This has included establishing a Collaborative Innovation Fund in 2018, which has awarded more than £1.7m to date, and forming the Health Innovation Partnership (HIP) in 2021.
The HIP has the vision to improve healthcare by building an environment and culture that fosters excellence in education, research and innovation in a sustainable, supportive and inclusive community.
With the HIP now approximately halfway through its term, a mid-term evaluation and future scoping exercise will take place over the coming months to look at what has been achieved and guide the future direction of the partnership.
This evaluation will include:
- Revisiting the objectives and purpose of the partnership and considering whether they remain the same.
- Identifying any opportunities that are not currently being explored.
- Learning from other partnerships between higher education institutions and the NHS.
- Assessing whether the current resource and support model is appropriate.
Have your say
To help shape the direction of our partnership, we will be seeking the views of colleagues across the Trust and the University through interviews and questionnaires.
We are particularly keen to hear from colleagues who have received funding or been involved in funded projects, and plan to contact these colleagues directly.
Your engagement in this process will support the partnership to foster deeper collaboration, promote mutually beneficial opportunities and, ultimately, develop a future strategy.
If you have any questions about the evaluation and scoping exercise, please contact Kate Hough, Strategic Project Lead in the Vice-Chancellor's Office.
