Women and Health: Event on benefits of active wellbeing
02 October 2023
The Women@Reading staff network invite you to a lunchtime session in partnership with the SportsPark on the benefits of sport and active wellbeing.
This informal, in-person session is open to all and will feature four colleagues from the University talking about the benefits of sport and active wellbeing.
The speakers will talk about their own experiences of participating in sport followed by a wider panel discussion. There will be plenty of opportunity for questions.
Research shows that physical activity can reduce the risk of illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer, and can play a key part in improving mental wellbeing, sleep and physical ability.
However, many people struggle with motivation when not in a supportive social environment and can often disengage. Attendees will find out how to overcome these barriers and learn ways to adopt a regular active lifestyle.
The event takes place on Monday 30 October 2023, from 12:30-14:00, in G11 Henley Business School.
If you would like to attend, please book via UoRLearn.
