Student Partner recruitment opens
07 September 2023
A scheme allowing academic colleagues to collaborate with students to enhance teaching and student experience has opened.
Partnership is at the heart of our academic community, and the Student Partner scheme enables staff and students to collaborate on new perspectives to teaching and learning, improve engagement and create meaningful change within academic schools.
This mutually beneficial scheme not only helps academic staff to implement their School Teaching Enhancement Action Plans (STEAP), but also gives students the opportunity to be actively involved in their own teaching and learning experience.
Student feedback shows the Partner roles give them a better understanding of teaching and are invaluable opportunities to work as a crucial stakeholder in their own programmes and schools.
How does it work?
Student Partners are recruited by colleagues within their academic department to collaborate on Teaching and Learning projects.
These can include researching and presenting ideas for educational change and innovation; co-creating student-facing resources; and providing real-time feedback and problem solving.
Examples of previous collaborative work can be viewed on the Student Partner project posters.
They help to enhance the student experience, focusing on teaching and learning projects which support the STEAP.
Student Partners are employed centrally by the Academic Development and Enhancement team in the Centre for Quality Support and Development (CQSD-ADE), although their collaborative project work with academic colleagues is based within their academic department.
How do you recruit Student Partners?
Students can apply through the Campus Jobs portal.
