Reading Pride photos: Colleagues join march for equality
05 September 2023
Reading Pride took place in the town at the weekend and Reading colleagues turned out in force to show their support.
Led by the LGBTQIA+ Staff Network and Reading Students' Union, colleagues and students joined the Love Unites Parade through the town centre and volunteered at a stall during the event to share the University’s work to support the LGBTQIA+ community on campus and beyond. Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Parveen Yaqoob was among the LGBTQIA+ allies in attendance.
Dr Ruvi Ziegler, Co-Chair of the LGBTQIA+ Staff Network, said: “It was wonderful to march with University colleagues and students through the centre of Reading in celebration of our diverse LGBTQIA+ community and the University's place in the town. The sun was shining on us!”
More information on the LGBTQIA+ Network, including how to join and links to the MS Teams channel, is available on the Staff Networks webpage.
