Get ready for the Green Festival
26 October 2023
It's time to go green! The University’s annual Green Festival is back from 14 - 16 November, celebrating sustainability with a jam-packed schedule of fun and informative events.
This year's festival has something for everyone, whether you want to learn practical tips or just have a good time while doing your bit for the planet.
Festival highlights
Big debates and thoughtful panel discussions will be tackling environmental ethics, asking how important it is to eat locally and seasonally, and who really is to blame for the climate crisis.
If you want to get hands-on, join the campus litter pick or clothes swap to take tangible green actions.
See Whiteknights campus through different eyes on a meditative nature tour, or join the Sustainability Services team for a walk visiting our energy saving initiatives. Or get crafty and grow your own seeds using recycled materials.
Learn how changing your daily habits can save energy, money and the planet with the Our Future First Champions. Still have questions about recycling? Experts will be on hand to answer all your waste queries.
Campus regular Dr Bike will be on hand once again to get your bike in tip-top condition, and colleagues can sign up for sessions on bike skills for commuting. Reading Buses will also be here with advice on getting the most out of their service – with free travel to be won.
