Reading Citizens: your invite to launch of alliance
07 November 2023
Colleagues are invited to the formal launch of a new community alliance co-founded by the University, which will collaborate to tackle local issues and bring about positive and long-lasting change for people in Reading.
Reading Citizens will bring together organisations from across the region, including faith, charity, education and trade union organisations. It has been established by the University and Citizens UK, as part of our ongoing partnership work.
The Reading Citizens founding assembly meeting takes place on 22 November 2023, from 19:00-21:00 at the Great Hall on London Road Campus. All members of our community are invited to learn more about the alliance and its priorities.
Reading Citizens has grown from the Thames Valley Citizens Chapter. The Reading Citizens work is central to our goal to be a University for Reading, as outlined in the Engaged University principle in the our University Strategy.
The success of this event will be important in demonstrating to local stakeholders and decision-makers the value and power of Reading Citizens, as well as the value of the University’s investment in the alliance.
As this is event for the whole Reading community, you are encouraged to bring along colleagues, friends or family who you think would be interested in finding out more about this initiative.
If you are able to attend, please fill in the online registration form or email Molli Cleaver, Community Engagement Manager.
