Dominik Zaum appointed PVC (Academic Planning and Resource)
24 November 2023
Professor Dominik Zaum has been appointed Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic Planning and Resource), for a six year term.
Dominik had already been acting in this role on an interim basis, following the departure of Professor Mark Fellowes in August 2023.
As Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic Planning and Resource), Dominik is responsible for the successful organisation and deployment of academic staffing and resourcing across the University, in line with strategic priorities.
He also has line management responsibility for all Heads of School, and is co-chair of the University-wide Planning Process.
Dominik said: “ I look forward to working closely with Heads of School, and colleagues across the University, to ensure that we have the resources and structures in place to support what is the core purpose of our Schools: to provide an excellent education, conduct excellent research and generate impact and innovation, and provide a strong student experience.”
Dominik joined the University in 2006 and had been PVC (Research & Innovation) since 2018, in a job share arrangement with Professor Parveen Yaqoob. In keeping with the interim arrangements, Parveen will continue to oversee the University’s research and innovation portfolio full time.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Robert Van de Noort said: “I am delighted to confirm Dominik’s appointment. His expertise, insight, and commitment to our University have strengthened us tremendously during a period of significant challenge and change.
“I look forward to continuing to work with Dominik, and the rest of UEB, as we shape the strategic direction of our institution and work to provide a transformative educational experience for our students."
