Graduate outcomes data 2020-21
26 May 2023
Data about the employment and education status of our 2020/21 graduates is now available to all colleagues.
The Graduate Outcomes Survey is the UK’s biggest survey of recent graduates. It offers a snapshot of their lives after graduation by asking about their current employment or education, as well as reflections on their student experiences 15 months on.
Survey data is used by the Office for Students, and by league table compilers to help generate their statistics relating to careers and employment.
The University has received the fourth round of results about Reading’s 2020/21 graduating cohort from the Survey, allowing us to see trends and changes in the data since the survey started in 2017.
To access the Tableau dashboards and departmental reports, all staff can request access to the Graduate Outcomes Results Teams site where all updates and new data releases will be shared from now on.
The Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), which administers the survey, will publish its initial sector-level analysis of the data on 31 May 2023.
Please note that until this date, there is a strict embargo on the use of Graduate Outcomes data outside the University. Please contact Louise Thomas-Burt (Acting Head of Careers Information and Data) if you have any questions about how you can use the information before it is made public.
New format
For the most recent results, the Careers team is piloting a new format, producing individual departmental reports alongside the existing Tableau Dashboards.
These reports will be particularly useful for anyone working in admissions, student support, marketing and planning, and anyone working on employability initiatives.
Heads of Schools, T&L Deans and SDTLS will shortly receive the relevant reports for their areas by email.
Colleagues are encouraged to share these reports within their teams and ensure that all staff have an opportunity to see the findings and consider how they might inform their work.
