Departures from Henley Business School
11 May 2023
Professors John Board and Andrew Godley have left the University.
After twelve very successful years as Executive Dean of Henley Business School and following a “significant” birthday, John has decided that the time is now right to announce his retirement.
Andrew has also left Henley Business School to pursue a portfolio of other activities.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Robert Van de Noort said: “Following the merger of Henley Management College with the University of Reading, John was instrumental in the creation of Henley Business School. Henley is now seen as one of the leading global Business Schools with an international brand, a reputation for innovation and very significant income. Much of this is a direct result of his leadership and is a very significant achievement. We are grateful to him for his contribution to the University and will miss his lively and idiosyncratic style.
“Andrew Godley performed a number of senior leadership roles in Henley, including overseeing the portfolio of international activities at the Business School. Andrew also founded and was the Director of the Henley Centre for Entrepreneurship, and was Head of Department of Leadership and Organisation Behaviour from 2015-2020.
“I would like to thank both John and Andrew for their service to the University.”
