Maintenance work on campus

Maintenance and repair works will be taking place in three locations on Whiteknights and London Road campuses over the coming weeks.
The work will have no impact on the majority of colleagues or students, but might result in some minor disruption to those in the immediate area, such as increased noise or parking spaces being temporarily unavailable.
The work will not cause any disruption to student exams.
The dates and details of this work is as follows.
Chimneys and loading dock at London Road – week commencing 22 May 2023
This work is already under way, and is to start rebuilding five chimneys at London Road: one on L014 (The Dairy) and four on L019.
Scaffolding to facilitate this was erected on Tuesday 23 May. The work this week is to clear away the damaged gas store at the rear of the Dairy and start the rebuild process. This work is expected to take six weeks and be completed by Graduation.
Separate repairs to the loading dock at the rear of The Dairy will also start on 5 June.
The work will mean construction vehicles will be present around the rear of The Dairy, next to Redlands Road, which is close to L011, LO10 and LO4. Three car park spaces outside of L04 will be unavailable in order to provide the contractor with a working area.
Great Hall maintenance - week commencing 5 June 2023
Decoration and timber repairs to the south end of the Great Hall, as well as repainting of the entrance doors, will begin on 5 June and will last two weeks.
Maintenance work on the windows of the main hall is expected to start after Graduation and exam re-sits this summer.
The area around the Great Hall will be a little busier during this period, but there is unlikely to be much noise.
Road remarking - Week commencing 12 June 2023
Road markings will be refreshed in the Estates maintenance yard and car park, next to Building 60 on Whiteknights campus, starting on 13 June.
Work will include the installation of a motorcycle parking bay and security rails.
The car park will be out of use for the duration of these works, which are expected to take four days. This will impact Estates colleagues who use the car park. Burning off the existing road markings will also cause some noise, smoke and potentially some dust int eh immediate area.
