Appointments to University Senate

Seven colleagues have been appointed to the Senate, the main academic administrative body at the University.
The new appointments fill vacancies under two new categories for academic staff, covering teaching & learning and research colleagues.
No election will be held in this instance, and the following colleagues have agreed to serve a three year term on the Senate from 1 August 2023.

About Senate
Senate is established by the Charter and is the University’s main academic administrative body. Reporting to the Council, the Senate meets 3-5 times a year.
The Senate comprises members of the University Executive Board (UEB), Deans, Heads and elected representatives of Schools, colleagues from the T&L and Research communities, as well as Reading SU Officers and elected students.
The University Boards for Teaching, Learning and Student Experience, Research and Innovation, UEB, and Global Engagement, report to Senate.
