Pay it forward with a coffee donation
10 March 2023
Cafés on our Whiteknights campus are part of the Reading City of Sanctuary Coffee Bank, making it easy to share a hot drink with someone in need.
The University is a proud supporter of the Reading City of Sanctuary programme, which works to support refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants in our local community.
Colleagues can take part by telling the person taking their order to donate a coffee to the scheme. An extra £2.40 will be added to the bill (£2 for students), which will be ‘banked’ for a sanctuary seeker here in Reading.
Local sanctuary seekers can visit one of our cafés, receive a free hot drink from the bank and feel welcome as part of the University community.
The campus outlets taking part include:
- Dol.che Vita (Palmer Building, Whiteknights)
- Library Café (Library, Whiteknights)
- Enterprise Café (Reading Enterprise Centre, Whiteknights)
Sanctuary cafés on campus are part of a network of Sanctuary Cafés in Reading. For more about the nationwide City of Sanctuary programme, visit cityofsanctuary.org.
