Director of HR appointment made
02 June 2023
Claire Rolstone has been appointed as Director of Human Resources following a recruitment process.
Claire had been in her Interim Director role for 12 months and the position was made permanent this week.
She will continue to lead a number of strategic projects that were started during the last 12 months or already under way, as well as daily HR operations at the University.
Claire said: “I am delighted to be appointed to this role on a permanent basis and to be able to continue the work that I and the whole HR team have started over the last 12 months.
“My priorities will include leading projects aimed at improving the working environment at Reading, continuing strategic work already under way and overseeing a smooth transition to new systems as part of digital transformation.
“Supporting staff through current challenges will be critically important and I am working closely with colleagues to make sure wellbeing is a top concern.”
Professor Robert Van de Noort, Vice-Chancellor, said: “We are pleased to confirm Claire permanently in this vital position after her excellent service over the past year in her interim role.
“This is a busy time for our HR team with some important projects being delivered and periods of change for staff, so Claire’s leadership will be of great benefit to the University.”
