Changes to Campus Card payments
06 June 2023
Campus Card payments are being phased out at University-run bars, cafés and canteens, with outlets unable to guarantee that they will accept payment using Campus Card funds after 31 July.
After this point, the number of outlets accepting Campus Card payments will begin to be reduced, with no Campus Card payments accepted at any Campus Commerce venue after the end of December 2023.
Colleagues who mostly use Campus Cards to pay for food and drink are advised to spend any funds loaded onto their cards by the end of July.
Campus Card payments will continue to be accepted for student printing, Library charges, and at the Art Shop and Post Room.
Colleagues can also continue to use Campus Cards to pay for food and drink at The MERL and ICMA cafés.
Use of Campus Cards to access buildings is unaffected.
Future upgrades
The changes are coming in as part of a wider project to improve the technology that supports the food and drink offering on campus.
New tills will be installed over the summer, and the project team is working to ensure that student meal plans will be ready on the new system for the start of the next academic year.
More details about future changes and what they mean for colleagues, students and visitors will follow on the Staff Portal.
