Portfolio Review Pathway milestone approaching
22 February 2023
The Portfolio Review Pathway (PRP) is fast approaching a critical milestone on Friday 24 March - the date by which all programme approval documentation needs to be submitted.
As a reminder, PRP is focused on reviewing our teaching and learning portfolio of programmes and modules and the processes underpinning our programme delivery and student experience. This will ensure we are offering programmes that are distinctive, coherent, sustainable, and reflective of student demand.
The March approvals deadline allows time to approve all the programmes and provide the correct programme information to current and incoming students in time for the 2024/25 academic year.
Thank you for all the efforts colleagues have made to meet the programme approvals deadline and for the ongoing work over the next few weeks to finalise the paperwork ready for submission.
What happens if programme information is not submitted?
It is vital that the required paperwork is received on time, to enable us to re-approve your programmes.
If programmes are not re-approved, they cannot be included in the programme roll-over for 2024/25, which means we cannot recruit to those programmes.
Colleagues in Schools are asked to speak with their Teaching and Learning Director (TLD) as soon as possible if you have concerns about meeting the approvals deadline. TLDs can also advise colleagues on the range of support available – for help with pedagogic design, as well as resource support.
Breakfast drop-in sessions
This month’s PRP breakfast drop-in session provided a summary of:
- Progress to date
- A reminder of the programme and module design changes and the updated processes and templates available for Schools
- What we need to do to meet the March 24th deadline for all programme submissions
The presentation deck from the drop-in event can be accessed as an online PDF.
The next breakfast drop-in will be on Wednesday March 15 at 9am. Invites are being sent to colleagues on our stakeholder list w/c 20 February.
Please contact portfolio.pathway@reading.ac.uk if you do not receive an invite and would like to be added to our regular communications list, as these events are open to all staff.
The breakfast drop-in sessions aim to answer your questions as well as signpost you to the resources and people available to help support you.
Up to date information about the progress of the Pathway can be found on our webpages, including the updated Approved Programme Design Decisions document.
