Applications are invited for a key role leading the University’s partnership with the Met Office.
The Met Office Joint Chair vacancy is open to colleagues in all subject areas, not just those whose work directly relates to weather and climate. However, their work and ambitions should align with the Met Office Research and Innovation Strategy.
About the role
The University’s strategic partnership with the Met Office has underpinned our work on Earth Systems Science for more than 50 years. Reading is one of eight UK universities to be a part of the Met Office Academic Partnership (MOAP).
The Met Office Joint Chair is the key member of staff driving joint research, innovation and partnership between the two institutions.
The successful candidate will lead the partnership with the Met Office at Reading, coordinate activities within and across the University that align with Met Office research and innovation priorities, and champion the Met Office within Reading.
Applicants should have a strong track record of research success and have a vision for how the partnership should develop.
