Excavation work on Whiteknights campus
24 February 2023
Temporary walkways will be in place in central Whiteknights campus during the next three weeks while excavation work takes place in two locations.
All the work will take place between Monday 27 February and Friday 17 March.
Knight Building
Excavation of a trench for a new electrical cable installation will be undertaken to the grassed area outside the Knight Building (Building 53 on Whiteknights campus map) as part of refurbishment work by new tenants RSSL.
Some limited machinery noise is likely during this period. This is likely to be loudest during the first week, and will increase briefly when excavation work crosses the tarmac footpath.
The excavation work will mean temporary walkways are created to allow access to the following buildings:
- Knight Building
- Palmer Building
- Minghella Building
- The RUSU Nursery
Near Hopkins Building
Excavation of a trench for a new duct chamber will also be undertaken on the grassed area between the Friends Bridge and the Hopkins Building (Building 118).
All this work will take place off the pedestrian walkways, so disruption is unlikely.
